Reflecting on where I am today, it’s hard not to think about the journey that’s brought me here—especially as someone who has always processed the world differently.

Over time, I’ve come to accept that my brain doesn’t work in the linear, one-size-fits-all way that’s often expected.

Instead of resisting it, I’ve started embracing that reality and finding tools and strategies that align with my thinking.

I’ve been on a journey to figure out how I work best—embracing my neurodivergent thinking and learning to be honest about what I need to succeed.

I’ve been told to push through like everyone else for most of my life.

But my brain doesn’t work that way. Now, at 47, I’m finally being honest about how I need to operate.

People often mistake honesty about limitations as making excuses.

But I’m here to improve, not take the easy way out.

It’s about finding tools, processes, and support that align with how my mind works.

How I’m Using AI to Bridge the Gaps

Over the past couple of years, I’ve adapted in ways that make life easier and work more efficient. Voice-to-text tools are game-changers for me.

I rely heavily on them, and I’m even using them to write this newsletter.

The advancements in AI-driven voice tools are leaps and bounds beyond where they used to be—think about how clunky Alexa was just a few years back!

On top of that, I’ve integrated AI tools into my everyday routines, like using AI note-takers to organize meeting insights and keep track of my chaotic thoughts.

When I need to brainstorm, I’ll even chat with AI like ChatGPT, using it to push back against my ideas or help me find clarity when I’m stuck.

Building a Support System that Gets Me

It hasn’t been just technology that’s made a difference. I’ve built a team around me who truly understands how I think.

From counselors to assistants who specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals to coaches who might not fully grasp it but still help in crucial ways—I’ve surrounded myself with the right people.

Having at least one person who can “translate” my lateral thinking into a format others can understand has been vital.

Why I’m Sharing This with You

Coaching, teaching, and helping others is my passion.

The more I figure out how to thrive uniquely, the more I want to share these discoveries with others who think like me.

I’ve spent years hearing people tell me to “do it like everyone else,” it’s refreshing to embrace doing things differently—my way, finally.

If you’re also struggling with finding your path in a world that isn’t built for how your brain works, know it’s okay to chart your course.

It’s okay to be honest about what you need to thrive.

We’re all navigating this journey together, and the more we embrace our unique ways of thinking, the more we can achieve.

Final Thoughts: Embrace the Journey, Not the Path Others Set for You

Being neurodivergent isn’t about accepting limitations—it’s about finding solutions that work for you!

The sooner we’re honest about our challenges, the sooner we can move forward authentically.

Keep pushing forward; the path may differ, but it’s yours to define.

We Think Like You.
